Are you interested in the outdoors? Would you like to get involved in protecting and enhancing Honeybrook?
As a Friend of Honeybrook you can become involved with a wide range of practical conservation activities, public event days, looking after our Victorian Kitchen Garden, and carrying out wildlife surveys. It is also a great way to meet likeminded people. We will meet once a month on a Saturday and also on Wednesdays for the practical conservation and Kitchen Garden Days, the first of which will be on 20th September. Wednesday 4th February. Garden. 10am onwards. Come along and help prepare the garden for the spring. Hopefully we will also be able to start work on revamping the strawberry patch. Tuesday 10th & Friday 13th February. Hedge-laying. 10am – 3pm. On Tuesday we are running a hedge-laying workshop which is open to the public and then we are continuing to lay the hedge on the Thursday and Friday. If you are interested and would like to have a go then please pop along any time on any day! The hedge being laid is on the main drive so I’ll be easy to find! Saturday 14th & Saturday 21st February. Bird Box Making. 11am – 1pm. We are running “come along and make a birdbox” events on both Saturdays of half term. All help welcome or just come along and make yourself a birdbox! Thursday 26th February. Practical Conservation Day. 10am – 3pm. Take part in conservation work along the river (weather permitting. If it is too wet we will change tasks!). Bring a packed lunch. Tea/coffee and biscuits provided! Wednesday 4th March. Strawberry Patch. 10am onwards. Help make the strawberry patch into the Honeybrook School Garden. Lavender hedge to plant and woodchip paths to lay. Wednesday 25th March. Practical Conservation Day. 10am – 3pm. Carry out work in the park to help get us ready for Easter! Tea/Coffee and biscuits provided! Tractor Driving… We are also looking for people to help run the Tractor Rides at Weekends and some Weekday afternoons. Full training and refreshments will be provided! If you are interested then please let me know. Many thanks for all your help over the months and we look forward to seeing you again soon. If you are planning to come along to any of the above then please give us a call/email to let us know. 01202 8811 20 or
